S (NO TANKS IN THIS TIER): An exceptional choice that we expect will be a fantastic inclusion as one or even two copies in raid compositions. We’re defining each tier as follows for tanks: We will endeavor to update the tier list whenever balance changes occur and as our understanding of the metagame solidifies. It’s likely that there will be several balance changes over the coming weeks, but even if there aren’t, there will likely be mistakes on the early version of this list. It’s designed to be an interesting discussion of what we think will make certain specs valuable to top Mythic progression teams, but it should not be used to decide which spec you’re going to play or which specs you’ll invite to your groups. This list must be taken with a huge grain of salt. We're not sure where Aberrus will land on this spectrum, but raid testing makes us think that surviving should generally be possible for all or almost all of the tank specs, which shifts our top picks towards those that provide raid buffs, damage, and extra utility. When this is the case, the most important criteria shift more towards damage and utility. Other times, even when undergeared, good players can survive the damage of most encounters. Tanks are judged on a number of factors - obviously durability is one of the most important, although it's worth noting that in some raid tiers it's more important than others that your tanks are playing the most survivable specs. This tier list is aimed at top end Mythic raid progression. In addition to this raiding experience, both Dratnos and Tettles have extensive experience doing dungeons at a high level and casting the MDI, TGP, and Race to World First.
